Wasim Akram believes Pakistan’s T20 league PSL better than IPL

Wasim Akram believes that the quality of bowling in Pakistan’s Super League (PSL) is better than that of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Akram said that although the IPL is better than the Pakistan League PSL because it has been going on for many years, bowling is a department in which PSL is better.

Speaking on Basit Ali’s YouTube channel, Akram said, “PSL is the second-largest tournament in the world of T20 after IPL. But comparing PSL with IPL is not appropriate. The PSL has just started and it was the fifth season played in Pakistan, while the IPL is an old tournament that has been played for 11 to 12 years. There is too much money in it. “

Akram further said, “For the last 5 years I am a part of PSL. During this time, all the foreign players who came to play in the PSL franchise, I asked them the same question about how different the bowling of IPL and PSL is. The players said the same thing to me that the bowling of PSL is very strong. There are 10 teams in the IPL, due to which you get one bowler in every team that you can attack. But there are only 6 teams due to which “Foreign players feel that bowling quality is better in PSL.”

Speaking on the lack of batsmen in Pakistan, Akram said, “We lack confidence in young batsmen here. If we improve on our grass-root level i.e. club cricket, first-class cricket, under-16 and under-19 levels If successful, then we will automatically see the best players in the Pakistan team. “

Significantly, the 5th season of Pakistan Super League was postponed only after the league stage due to the Coronavirus epidemic. PSL knockout matches are yet to be held due to Corona.

During this conversation, Wasim Akram also revealed the names of the top 5 players of Test cricket of his time. Akram placed Sir Vivian Richards at number one while New Zealand’s Martin Crowe at number two.

Wasim placed Brian Lara at number 3 and Inzamam-ul-Haq at number 4, while Sachin was ranked number 5 in the top 5 Test players. However, Akram also gave the reason behind not keeping Sachin at number two.

He said, “I and Waqar have not played Test cricket for 10 years against Sachin. When I was at the top, I did not get a chance to bowl against Sachin. There is no doubt that he is a great batsman but we got him a chance to bowl more. Was not found.”
